Edith was born in Houston, Texas in November 19, 1927. She graduated from San Jacinto High School - Class of 1945. She worked as an Executive Secretary with Exxon for twenty-five years, mostly in Houston but also in Los Angelos.
Edith is predeceased by her husband John Frick, sister Rae Rupley, mother Thelma Miller and father Ray Elliott, and step-son John Frick, Jr. Edith and John were married in Corpus Christi in 1983.
Edith is lovingly remembered by niece Robin Charlesworth and her husband Dr. Ed Charlesworth of Houston, Texas; grand niece Brittany Johnson and husband Josh Johnson of Fort Worth; grand niece Alli Stein and husband Jake Stein of Nederland, Texas; nephew Ralph Rupley; Randolph Rupley and his wife Britta and grand nephew Jannik; and three great-grand nephews.
She is also lovingly remembered by step-daughter Leila Roach and her husband Bob Roach of Orlando, Florida; step-grandchildren Melissa Frick Ryan of Lake Tahoe, California,Jessica Megan Frick of Austin, Rally Selma Jinx of Austin, and Michael St. John Roach of Jacksonville, Florida.
Edith enjoyed traveling, especially her time in London. She was quite social and entertained often. She discovered a talent for art in her retirement at The Buckingham, enjoying art classes and having selections chosen for their annual calendar. Friends in the “Whatsoever” group met regularly for lunches at various locations, and a smaller group of friends met monthly to play dominoes. She cherished time with family and many friends. Edith enjoyed Circle meetings or Bible studies at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and summertime retreats at Laity Lodge in Kerrville, Texas. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Houston Geological Auxiliary, Harris County Heritage Society, Friends of Bayou Bend, Museum of Art of American West Guild, Houston Museum of Art, Iowa County Historical Society and Houston Petroleum Auxiliary Council.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77024 on March 15, 2021 at 10:30 am with Reverent Beth Case officiating. This ceremony will be available to be viewed on Facebook Live so you may choose to watch from the comfort and safety (due to Covid) of your own home. A private Burial is to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
