Edith is survived by her daughter Kathy Turchi (Steve Turchi) and son Wayne Spillers; her 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, sister and her 4 brothers.
Edith worked as a switchboard operator for Harris County, then as a secretary for a Harris County commissioner. She enjoyed singing in the church choir for years at Park Place Assembly of God. She was also actively involved in Fairmont Methodist, later in her life. She also enjoyed reading books, shopping, eating out with the company of her family, as well as spending time with her beloved shihtzu-poodle (Jake) that lived to 18 years old. We all will miss hearing her say “Joy, Joy, Joy!”
A graveside service for Edith will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
