Eddie Lee Davis

On October 6, 1957, a son was born to Eddie Sr. and Helen Davis in Houston, Texas. He was the first born of three sons and who they named Eddie Lee Davis Jr.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Eddie Lee Davis Sr ( 2002), and Mother, Helen Marie Davis (2021). A product of Houston Independent School District, he graduated from Kashmere High School in 1976. He continued his formal education at Prairie View A&M University where he received a degree in Physical Education while working simultaneously as a student trainer in 1983.

Upon graduation he obtained employment at Prairie View A&M University as an Athletic Equipment Manager where he received countless accolades serving faithfully for seventeen years. Moving back home and remaining in the HBCU system he joined Texas Southern University Staff as an Athletic Equipment Manager in 2008. Where he remained a devoted staff member until death. Davis spent thirty plus years in the SWAC.

On the 20th day of April 2023 God called Eddie Lee Davis Jr. from labor to reward. Where he has joined a great cloud of witness which includes both parents, Eddie Lee Sr. and Helen Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory of love two brothers Eric (Bennie) Davis and Erwin Davis, two nieces April Johnson and Erica Davis, great nieces Cyniah Nimmer and Journee Tutt (arriving May 15, 2023), a host of god children, devoted friends, student athletics and SWAC family
