Durga was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a quiet man but always enjoyed people's company. He loved hosting parties and bringing people together. He had a passion for tv and hanging out with friends. When he wasn't with his friends, he was at home with his family. He loved watching wrestling as well as old movies, especially John Wayne films. Durga had a career in the tire industry with Little York Tires & Wheels.
Durga is survived by his wife of 35 years, Hansraji "Rita" Nandlal; children Glen Nandlal, Raj Nandlal, Saira Nandlal, Indira Nandlal, Sharda Nandlal, Amanda Nandlal, and Stephanie Nandlal, siblings; Dola, Thakur, Ben, Kamla, Krishna and Dolina and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Durga was preceded in death by his parents Nandlal Birju and Dhanwantia Birju.
A visitation for Durga will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039; with a witness cremation to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park Crematory, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
