Dung Van Nguyen

Funeral service will be held at Garden Oaks Funeral Home at 13430 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77083 on Friday July 8th, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm. The following day Saturday July 9th, 2022 from 9am to 1pm, he will be cremated at 12pm. Dung Nguyen well be resting in peace at Chua Phan Luan.

Dung was born in Tan Song Song Ha Bac, Vietnam, Dung Nguyen is a husband to Dung Phung and a father to the late Hai Nguyen, Thuan Nguyen, Thu Nhien Gonzalez and Hoa Nguyen.

Dung is a proud Veteran, who was a Prisoner of War in Vietnam. He fought and protected his homeland during the Vietnam War. He learned a set of skills to fight against the enemy. He Halo jumped from helicopters to ambush his enemies. At the end Dung was captured and he spent nearly 20 years in prison along with 200 other veterans. After Dung escaped he came home to marry my mother Dung Phung and had four children.

In March of 1994, Dung migrated his family to the United States and settled down in Houston, Texas. After settling down Dung became a machinist who made oil pipes for nearly 16 years. During this time Dung and the other Prisoners of War fought for their wages due to issues they had with the government when they came back. He never gave up and after a couple of years they obtained it. Dung was invited to the White House to meet President George Bush Jr. and senates in Washington D.C.. President George Bush has invited Dung to his ranch on multiple occasions. Dung is a hard working man who worked two jobs just to provide for his family. Dung retired from his machinist job in 2012. Dung enjoyed going to the Vietnam Veteran Parade and festivals. He enjoy the life of retirement with his wife and children.

Dung has suffered from PTSD due to the term of service in Vietnam. He dealt with it in his own ways. Dung always took care of his family until he became ill. Dung has beaten many odds from his long term illness but this time he was too tired to fight. He is no longer in pain nor suffering from his illness. May his soul rest in peace.

Dung leaves behind his wife Dung Phung, his son Thuan Nguyen, his daughters Thu Nhien Gonzalez, and Hoa Nguyen, grandkids Angelinda Gonzalez and Esau Gonzalez.

Dung may have parted this world very suddenly but we will keep his memories alive within our hearts and minds.
