I have many memories growing up next door to Doug and his family, in League City, Tx.  So sorry to read of his passing, and that of his two brothers previously - I've lost touch with all in the area and hadn't heard of any till now.  Thoughts and prayers to his family at this time.

I've only known Doug for a relatively short time.  I grieve for his son Matthew and trust that Doug will be of some inspiration as Matthew continues his life with his wife Kayla and son Aiden.

Doug was my step son for 26 years.  I was happy that he referred to me as "Mom".    I will always remember his kindness to me.  He was a dedicated Police Office and a good provided for his family,  often working two to three extra jobs.  I am so thankful that he was able to enjoy a year with his grandson, Aiden.   Doug will be missed in many ways.  God Bless him as he reunites with his son, Douglas, father( Dean). brother (Don), brother (David) and other family members.

I thank God that Doug had Matt, Kayla and his precious grandchild in his life. He was a wonderful man - always the first to offer help in any way he could. If there is any consolation it's that I know he is happy up in Heaven with his two brothers - rough housing - as usual! Love you Doug. You will always be in my heart.

It was an honor to know Doug and work with him. He always made us laugh and told great "war stories".. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family..Godspeed good friend..

We are so sorry to hear about Doug's passing.  There has been so much sadness for the Boyer family with the loss of Dean, Don, and David and now Doug.  May God bless Matt and his family at this time.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Doug's family. He was such a funny and kind person. He will be greatly missed.

We only met Mr. Boyer once.  But, Matthew and Kayla are our neighbors.  And, if they are any indication of the type of person he was; then he was great.  Because they are great young people.

Doug and I were good friends, especially after having once being married to each other. He will greatly be missed by everyone. Now he can fish with the Big Guy.

Doug was a great guy and a really good friend.  We worked together in Accident Division for many years.  He always had a contagious smile on his face and was fun to be around.  Doug had a big heart and would have given anyone the shirt off his back.  My husband, Mike, knew him from the streets, back in the day.  Always helpful, Doug would check by on patrol calls whenever he could. We both considered him a true friend and we will miss him greatly.  Our deepest condolences to Doug's family, you are in our thoughts.

We were very sorry to here of Doug's death.  Doug was a friend and co-worker that I worked with in the HPD Solo Detail and with Melinda and I at Houston's First Baptist Church. He was always fun to be around and we shared a lot of good times. Rest in Peace and God Bless.

He was the best uncle anyone could've asked for.  He treated me as a son, and shared his experience and humor.  It is impossible to imagine my life without him and he is already greatly missed.  God Speed, Uncle Doug.

How saddened by this news.  Doug and I went through the same police academy class and formed our friendship during that time.  Over the years, we always kept in touch -- and continued keeping in touch after I retired in 2003 and moved out of state.  Doug and I shared many laughs over the years.  After I moved, I would always know who was calling late at night "just to talk" for about an hour or so!!  We shared tears and laughs over different events in our lifes.  I always affectionately called him my "little brother" because he was a bit younger.  Doug will be greatly missed because of his great sense of humor more than anything.  "God speed" my friend.

I have known Doug only a short time when his son Matthew
married my granddaughter Kayla.  He always had a smile on his face and I could tell he was a gentle soul and loving person.
He will be greatly missed by his family.

Armed with his Dad's sense of humor, Doug was a formidable character. I pine to hear of his death but the picture sure brings a smile of fond remembrance.. It was long ago but a memory I won't forget.

What a sad loss for our family...My cousin Doug was always so lively, so funny and such a character in our family. He also had such a genuine nature.
In the last few years, he often called my folks (his aunt and uncle) in Hutchinson to talk about his life, his grandson, and to reminisce about his boyhood spent in Kansas. He talked of spending time with our grandma and grandpa and of the days spent fishing with Uncle Leo...
You had such a warm heart and loving soul, Doug. We will miss you.
