Dorothy was born February 15, 1936 to Walter and Hattie Irving in Kendleton, TX. She grew up in a loving, Christian home where she accepted Christ at an early age. She relocated to College Station where she attended Prairie View A&M University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Dorothy later moved to Houston where she met the love of her life, JD Roquemore and married on February 9, 1957. They later joined Blueridge United Methodist Church where she served on the mission board and sang in the choir.
Her father, mother, husband, all sisters and all brothers, except one, preceded Dorothy in death. Her legacy of hardwork, dedication and love will be cherished by her daughter, Glenda Wiggins (Chris); granddaughter, Mayah Ignace; stepdaughter, Regina Stewart; step-sons, Charlie Rockemore (Loretta) and JD Roquemore Jr. (Michelle); brother, Andrew Irving (Ann); brother-in-law, Tommy Roquemore (Lula); sister- in-law, Cloteal Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors.
