Dorothy Jean Porter

Dorothy Jean Porter, June 16, 1923 – September 29, 2010. Graduated Milby High School Houston, Texas 1940. Married William Wesley Culver, Jr. having only one child, Billie Jean. Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Mable Phillips Turbeville; father, Louis Turbeville and her only brother, George Turbeville. She is survived by her daughter, Billie J. Butler; two grandchildren, Brad Ellis and his wife, Katrice and Debbie Morgan and her husband, Michael; six great grandchildren, Melice Von Minden and her husband, Nathan, Tommy Hoot, Melanie Ellis, Remmington Hoot, Sam Ellis and Marshall Morgan; three great great grandchildren, Jack, Avery and Charis Von Minden; along with nieces and nephews, Smokey Culver, Kelly Culver, Linda Gail Littlejohn and Louis Turbeville; and best friend and sister-in-law, Margaret Turbeville. A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 in the Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home Champions.
