Born December 18, 1924, in Houston, Texas, to Walter and Theresa Schilder, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Linwood F. Moss, brother Laurence “Hank” Schilder and nephew Ben Schilder. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Moss; son, Leighton Moss; sister-in-law Maurine Schilder; niece Nancy Webster and husband Tracy; nephews Steve Schilder and Rusty Schilder; and “adopted” sons Ray Franklin and John Jaggers.
Dorothy lived in Houston her entire life and spent her career in the banking industry. An outgoing, fun-loving cowgirl at heart, she was a longtime member of the Valley Lodge Trail Riders and the Houston Rodeo Association. In her later years she also enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Shriner’s Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital. Throughout her life, though, her best times were spent hanging out with family, laughing with friends (old and new) and dancing.
Her children will be honoring her in private and ask that in lieu of flowers or other tributes, friends remember her with a smile, a glass of wine and a little Texas Two-Step.
