After moving from Hankamer, Texas at the age of 20, Dorothy lived the rest of her 92 years in the Houston area. Dot, as she was affectionately known, honored her patriotic duty as a welder in the Houston shipyard. After that, she worked for the Weingarten Corporation until time for her to retire from the work force. Throughout her life, Dot enjoyed traveling, needlepoint and jigsaw puzzles. Reading her Bible continually, Dot was always active in her church. She was preceeded in death by her first husband, Charles Garrett and also preceeded in death by her second husband, Bill Janak.
The family is grateful to the caring staff at The Forum/Memorial Woods and to the professionals of Hospice Compassus.
