Dorothy Price Hudson, born August 24, 1929 in East Alton, Illinois passed away at home in Houston, June 12, 2012. She was considered by many to be “the nicest person you could ever meet”. Dorothy graduated from Milby High School and attended the University of Houston. She was an accomplished artist, an avid reader, a league bowler, and an excellent bridge player. Dorothy was especially proud to be the wife/mother/grandma to a family she loved and who loved her in return.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, J. Perdee Hudson; 5 daughters: Susan K. Johnson and husband Jeff, Patricia Maxey, Nancy Littleton and husband Joey, Beverly J. Brinton and husband Wayne, and Judy L. Shamburger and husband Matt; 14 grandchildren: Sean, Christopher and Missy Johnson, Nicole and Laura Maxey, Kristin Killebrew, Nikki, Brittany and Cameron Littleton, Allyson, Macy and Meghan Brinton, Jason and Jared Shamburger; 2 great-grandsons: Matthew and Ethan; and sister Illa Stiles and husband Howard, all of Houston. All 5 of her daughters –and 3 of her grandkids so far– graduated from Texas A & M despite the fact that their father/grandfather is a “teasipper”!
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Sally (Baldwin) Price, brother Harry LeRoy (“Chubby”) Price and sister Beryl (“Tommie”) Tankersley.
Visitation will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston on June 19, 2012 from 6-8pm with an 11am service held on June 20, 2012 at the same location.
