Dorothy Nell Huckabay

Dorothy Nell Billingsley Huckabay was truly blessed. She was born April 2, 1928 in Troy, Texas. Dorothy is a true and proud Daughter of the Republic of Texas - her Great Grandfather, Jesse Billingsley fought at the Battle of San Jacinto. She married Morris Sheppard Huckabay December 18, 1948. Together they had 5 children - Vance, Charlie, Wayne, Brenda & Cindy.

Family was very important to Dorothy. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. On June 13, 2013, God sent his Angels to bring Dorothy home to eternal rest. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Howard Leon Billingsley & Viola Lofton Humphrey, her husband Morris Sheppard Huckabay, oldest son Floyd Vance Huckabay, and her furry companion Sparky.

She is survived by sons Charlie of Belton, her Baby Boy Wayne & daughter-in-law Linda of Houston, daughter Brenda Lorke of Belton and daughter & son-in-law Cindy & Michael Kortis of Temple. Dorothy had 10 wonderful grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She will be always be remembered for her acts of kindness, generosity and compassion in helping others. She loved to quilt, travel, photography and when given a choice to sit it out or dance - SHE DANCED
