Dorothy K. Campbell, was born on February 9, 1923 in Chicago, Il. She passed peacefully on August 17, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She worked for Pulman Standard in Chicago. Dorothy took care of her ailing mother until her marriage in 1953 and had four beautiful children that she devoted her life to. She was a wonderful homemaker and was involved in various volunteer groups.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing, Sudoku, Crochet, Hallmark shopping and she was an avid sports fan especially baseball and football. She loved going out to eat with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter; birthday and holiday celebrations were her favorite. A special thank you to the staff at Ameritas and Vitas Hospice.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank N. Campbell on August 6, 1985. She is survived by her daughter Patricia E. Wientjes; sons, Richard B. Campbell, James (J.C.) Campbell and wife Cindy, William (Bill) Campbell and ; grandchildren, Jennifer Campbell Schuck and husband Brad, Jeffery F. Wientjes, Michael D. Wientjes and wife Danni, Amy K. Wientjes, Caroline L. Campbell, Catherine A. Campbell, Trevor M. Campbell, Adam J. Campbell; great-granddaughter, Briley J. Salcido and Dorothy's sister, Norma Mann.
There is visitation with a Holy Rosary from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19th at Forest Park Westheimer. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20th at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister in Houston. Burial will follow at Forest Park Westheimer.
