Mrs. Doris (McQueen) White

Mrs. Doris McQueen White was born November 28th 1933, in Corrigan Texas to Matthew McQueen and Margaret Jones McQueen. She attended Chester High School and was the top student there when she graduated.

She later moved to Houston, Texas where she met her husband John White. They married April 21, 1956 and moved to Garden City Park in the Acres Home area shortly afterwards. Her husband passed away in 2010.

Survived by 2 Sons Alfred & Darrell White, Daughter-in-law, Tamara White (Alfred); Grandchildren, Dexter Bell (Marie), April McGowan (Andree) and Chelsea “Lenora” White; Great-grandchildren, Aiden, Denim, Paris.

Survived by her sister Nancy Price, brother-in-law, Pastor Max Price, and sisters-in-laws, Mrs. Gladys McQueen (Algie) and Ms. Mary White.

Preceded in death by siblings, Irving McQueen, Kara McQueen, Algie McQueen, Bessie Mae McQueen, Beulah Mae McQueen, Ora McQueen Wright, and Lovie McQueen.

Also survived by a hosts of nieces and nephews.

She was previously a member of Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church and at the time of her passing a member of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church both in the Acres Home area.

Doris loved singing in the choir and was a choir member at both churches.
