Doris "Dorsey" Marie Bibbs was a person with a heart of gold and full of love. She gave her time selflessly and cared for her family and community. She was a loving and devoted mother, dedicated sister, cherished grandmother, and adored aunt. Doris was born on September 8, 1952 in New Willard, Texas. She graduated from Leggett High School in 1971. Doris worked at All Right Parking for many years. She was actively involved at the senior program at Sunnyside Multipurpose Center in Houston, YMCA, and South East Little League Baseball concessions, just to name a few.
Our beloved “Momma Doris”, as she was lovingly called, had a passion for many things. She would put a lot of time and effort into what she really cared about. She loved to look good, and was a very independent and strong woman. She loved to have a good-time whether it was playing a good hand of spades, dominoes or dancing the night away with family and friends to her favorite blues artist, Johnny Taylor. Her favorite pastime was enjoying the comforts of her home, cooking, going fishing, gardening, talking to friends and family on the phone and posting and enjoying her new found love for Facebook. Her house was the place where everyone would come to; everyone knew that address. She opened up her heart and home to many friends of her son, Lawson, and they loved her just like a mom. She loved sports and avidly supported Lawson throughout his high school and college career playing the game he loved most, baseball. She had an unconditional love for her son, daughter and grandchildren. Her beautiful, caring spirit will forever be engraved deep in our hearts.
