Dr. Donald Alvis Rodgers, Ph.D., of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, the 29th of June 2015. Donald was born on the 8th of May 1944, in Brownwood, Texas, son of Alvis Ervin Rodgers and Wynema Pauline Wilkerson Rodgers. He was an incredible student with a thirst for knowledge rivaled only by his sense of humor. Donald received a BA from University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Brown University. It was there where he met the love of his life and wife of forty-five years, Daad Hawila Rodgers. Donald was an accomplished and respected Geophysicist. He spent his career working for companies like City Service, Aramco and Haliburton.
Donald leaves behind his wife, Daad Hawila Rodgers; his daughter, Aida Rodgers and her husband Jonathan Jansen; and his beloved granddaughter, Slater Zein Jansen.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Donald during a reception to be held from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 2nd of July, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The memorial service is to be conducted at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 3rd of July, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.
