This couple, Don and Theta were the sweetest couple. You could see the love they shared in their actions and in the way they looked and cared for each other. They are our beach neighbors and we will miss seeing them.
We just learned of Don's passing, please know that he was a happy, decent, and knowledgable man to visit with, Eddie and I enjoyed each visit.
           Rest in peace Don

I was fortunate to be a part of the Jaggers family from 1963 to 1974. Roland was my husband, the father of our son David, so Don was my brother-in-law. I spent a lot of wonderful times with Grandpa and Grandma Jaggers, Dick and Charlotte, Don and Theda, Howard and Ann. They were a fun bunch. Don would always tell a story with a completely straight face, fooling us into thinking he was going to tell us something serious, then break out laughing. But he always had that military bearing. That sure and quiet way of getting things done. Even as he aged, he continued to amaze us with his strength. When Roland had to go into a nursing center, Don was always there to make sure his little brother got the best of care. He was a big help to David. Just over a year ago, I told Theda, who is one of my favorite people, that to me, Donald would always be the movie star of the family. I thought he looked like a young Robert Mitchum.  I will always remember Don as a man of kindness and integrity.  It was a source of comfort to me that he was always there in case someone needed advice. I will surely miss him, but I know he's starting a new life where the Lord will surely use his great heart and many talents. 


Mr. J is absolutely one of the finest men that I have had the honor and privilege to know. Up until his sickness this year, there was nothing this man could not do. When we used to hunt together, I recall him helping me spread food plot seed by walking behind the tractor on a very hot humid day - he seemed to never get tired. Also, one morning after a hunt, I heard him shoot and when I came back to help him with his deer, he already had him hung and was finishing up dressing out the deer. He used to laugh at me when I told him that when I grow up, I wanted to be just like him! Before he passed away, I was thankful to have the opportunity to visit with him and tell him how much he meant to me! He just smiled and told me to pray that the lord would give him some new legs so that he could get up and walk out. Ms. Theta if there is anything that you need, please do not hesitate to call on me.    

I remember Mr. Jagger’s hugs and the way he championed me throughout my childhood at Spring Branch.  I preached my first sermon at 15 and he told me that God spoke to him.  I hope I can encourage others all the days of my life like Mr. Jaggers.

I was blessed to know Don these past four years as members of our deer lease. 
His hard work and energy inspired others.
He and I joked every time we were together about how we shared the same name-Don.
We said we were old Don and older Don.
You will be missed.
