Donald Paul Denton was born January 2, 1942, in Dallas, Texas. His parents were Barney Sanford Denton and Esther Dolores Krebs Denton. Don went to be with his Lord and Maker on February 19, 2019, in Houston, Texas.
Don attended and graduated from Adamson High school in Dallas, Texas, and later attended the University of Houston where he graduated from Pharmacy School.
Don served two terms in the US Navy. His first term of service was as a Navy Corpsman stationed in Corpus, Christi, Texas. Several years later, his second term of service was as a Lt. J.G. in Bethesda, Maryland, where he served as the first licensed pharmacist for the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Don was married to Norvelie Rachford from Beaumont, Texas; they were later divorced.
Don worked as a Registered Pharmacist in retail at Jones Apothecary, and as a relief pharmacist in area hospitals for several years before he went to work for M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. He began working full-time at the hospital in 1977 and retired from full-time work in 2007 when he began working part-time, and was still employed part-time at M.D. Anderson at the time of his death.
Don was a very active member of Westbury Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
Don is survived by his ex-wife and friend Norvelie, his close friend and caregiver Cynthia Alexander, and many co-workers and friends.
The Visitation will be held at Westbury Baptist Church on 10425 Hillcroft St, Houston, TX 77096 on Saturday, March 2, 2019 Staring at 9:00 am. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am.
