Two of the sweetest people in the world. I am shocked and heartbroken at their passing. Reda was one of my favorite people... such a beautiful soul. My love and deepest sympathies to my cousins Judith and Susan. I can't express how sorry I am.

Very sorry for this tragic loss. My mom told me today that she knew your Mom when they lived in Candlelight. On behalf of me and my mom Diana Patrick we are deeply sorry for your loss.

Judith and Susan, I am so sorry for your loss.  I remember lots of fun working with your dad.  He made me laugh and gave me an opportunity to study to be an investment advisor.  I will always be grateful for his advice.  You have my sincerest sympathies.

My thoughts and prayers this week have been with the family of Don and Reda who were my friends at Baptist Temple and Reagan many years ago. Don was my father's first cousin. They were born the same year, grew up three miles from each other, did many things together and considered each other as close as brothers. Dad also knew Reda, way back since high school, as she was Don's girlfriend.  Don told my dad once that if he left this earth first that when it was my dad's time to go that he would be there up in heaven to help open up the gates. Of course this tragedy is a shock to everyone, and my dad Roland (Buck) is trying to cope with it like we all are. I feel the hurt for everyone. My sympathies and prayers go out to Don and Reda's family and friends.

Reda was a tennis partner and HLTA teammate. I loved playing matches with her as she was such a gracious, albeit competitive, player. She was also a tremendous support to me as a fellow breast cancer survivor. She shared her determination, optimism and encouragement with me through some very trying times, and I am truly blessed for having known her.  Her sweet smile and lovely spirit will certainly be missed.

The Newton family sends their prayers and thoughts for your loss. Don and Reda were two of the most "genuine" people we ever counted as true friends. The photo of Don and I celebrating his birthday with a new pair of slippers was a joke but great memory. We played lots golf,ate dinner out with our wives every weekend for many years when they were neighbors at Canyon Lake. Reda had to be an angel to put up with Don (just kidding) her smile was always present and her special way of making everyone feel good. I know the special bond they had with their grandkids...their pride and joy as well as two beautiful daughters. While this is heartbreaking to us all we must be thankful for their lives shared with us all and wonderful memories. I have no doubt they continue to love and look down upon us from their new home. I went to Temple Oaks Baptist School with Judith and her sister.  My heart is so sad for your family.  I have such sweet memories of being at your house.  Your mom made the best sugar cookies ever. Leigh,Kelley,Faith and myself are heart broken in losing two of the most beautiful people ever! Over 30 years we shared that wonderful smile of Reda's combined with positive attitude always. Don was my buddy that liked to kid me with his "dry humor" which I gave right back to him. Many rounds of golf we shared as neighbors in their Canyon Lake home. We all pray for comfort for Judith and Susan and the grandkids they worshipped.....Our lives are not empty because they have left us but, instead our lives are enriched because of the love we had for each other that God allowed us to have with them. I know they are looking down on you as they always will from their new home. God bless

It was such a shock for Jeanne and I to hear about the loss of two wonderful people who obviously really cared about and helped their community.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Haven't known your mom very long but it was like I had know her forever. We attend church and Bible Study together, but the best of all was volunteering together at the Mission in New Caney. Sweet beyond words!!!  We will miss that radiant smile.

In my teen years softball was everything and Don was our coach.  He was a real man to me.  Never got angry.  I can still hear him speaking to us before and after a game.  I can still see Reda at Baptist Temple with a big smile on her face and always doing for others...I noticed....They are both with Jesus now and soon Revelation 4:1 is about to happen...when Jesus calls his church home when He calls out "Come Up Hither".  When I get to Heaven I will be looking for them both.... John Blanchette Pearland, Tx.

With a heavy heart I send my most sincere condolences.   I have such wonderful, warm memories of them both and your home on Park Plaza.   They always welcomed me and made me feel part of the family.  Don was quick with his dry wit and incessant teasing while Reda was everyone's second mother who fussed over and doted on us all.  Judith and Susan  I am so sorry for your immense loss.  May you find comfort in the warmth and grace of God's enduring love.

Don was a CHARACTER!  He was my cousin-in-law, married to my cousin, Reda!  He always teased everyone - I learned to have a quick come-back ready for him - he would just grin and shake his head! He had a mischievous smile and a twinkle in his eye! If you ever had the PLEASURE of riding in a car with Don driving - he drove FAST - and if you arrived at your destination in one piece - you would PROMISE yourself to NEVER ride with him again! He even drove a golf cart FAST - threw a church member friend out of the cart - then laughed and said, "You should have held on better!"   Don will be missed by family and friends.

My  heart is heavy for the loss of your parents.  Reda was a mentor for me at Baptist Temple, her love for Christ grew me in my Christian faith.  I pray God will give you peace in this time of loss.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. I enjoyed working with Susan and Don, and have great, and lasting memories of those days.

I went to school with Reda from Garden Oaks Elementary through Reagan High School.  She was one of the sweetest girls I ever knew.  When we worked downtown, we would occasionally car pool.  I didn't know your Father but she always talked about him when we met up.  My sincere condolences.

I grew up playing softball and basketball for the teams Don coached at Baptist Temple. I always considered him a mentor and a friend.  I will always remember his dry wit and sense of humor.  Reda was one of the kindest people I ever knew. I will always remember her smile. Heaven is a sweeter place today.

I am so, so sorry to hear the news. Mr. and Mrs. Rentz were fine examples to my generation at Baptist Temple Church. And, I know that my grandparents,  Prentiss and Bee Ruple thought highly of them. The Ruple and Martin families send our love and prayers.

Judith and Susan I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you. I know your parents loved The Lord and are celebrating in heaven right now. I remember the youth swim parties and sleepovers. Your parents were always opening their house and their hearts to others. They will be missed by many. Be strong.

My mother was Don's first cousin.  My brother Dan and I grew up in the extended Kissel family and have many warm memories of family gatherings at 916 Arlington and visits with Grandma Kissel and our great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.  We weren't members of Baptist Temple, but we spent many Sundays there with aunts "Kika" and "Bee," who also made sure we were in Rice Stadium to hear Billy Graham.  Don's dad, Uncle Everett, was our family dentist.  Our mom, Hazel, loved to joke and kid around with Aunt Alta, who had a great sense of humor and always gave us the latest news on her beautiful granddaughters.  When Reda brought Alta over to visit, there was always laughter and fun--and usually cake.  Don and Reda were a precious part of this large family.  They gave so much to those they loved, to their church family, and to the community.   My heart goes out to everyone in their orbit, but especially to Judith, Susan and their families.  Keep the good memories.  They will outlast the pain.

Our hearts are broken to hear of Don & Reda's passing.  They were a faith and family focused couple as demonstrated by their everyday life. Reda always had warm and genuine smile and she made you feel as if you were the only person in the room. Her easy, comfortable nature was one of her most endearing qualities. They no doubt touched many lives and their absence can never be replaced. Our thoughts and prayers are with Judith & Susan and their families. May they rest in peace - until we meet again.

I was in Reda and Don's Wedding and they were in mine.  Don introduced me to his cousin, Jeanette Dyer, who became my wonderful wife 58 years ago.The 4 of us spent many hours together at Baptist Temple. We stepped forward at the Billy Graham service held at Rice Stadium;Don and Reda kept the Faith. A most noble example was their lives.

Don's mother was one of my leaders @ Baptist Temple.  Reda was a teacher of mine after I married and was such an inspiration.  Don led so many young men through the BT sports program.  The lives of all the Rentz family made great impressions on so many and their leadership will always be a testament of their love of Our Lord.

Every few months mom would meet the ladies at Cracker Barrel for lunch . A couple times I went with her. Rita always gave me hug and made you feel so important. She was always interested in my life and made me feel famous or important. Just a spark of light in this big world we live in.

What a wonderful Christian couple. Our 2 families worshiped together at Baptist Temple in the Heights. Susan and Judith grew up with our 2 boys (David and Brian). Very painful. God bless and prayers for the family.
