Don Hensley

DON HENSLEY, born February 14, 1933 in Houston, passed away July 17, 2010.He was predeceased by his parents, H.W. and Lois Hensley; his brother, Paul; sister-in-law, Kathy; and his beloved in-laws, Jack and Lillian Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara; his sons, Dr. Don Hensley and wife, Dr. Janie Lee of San Anselmo, CA., Dr. David Hensley and wife Patricia, of Ridgewood, N.J. and Mark Hensley of Austin; grandchildren, Jack, Erin, Caitlin, J.P., and Matthew and sister-in-law, Betty Fulkerson. Don was a proud graduate of the University of Houston, obtaining Bachelors of Science and Masters Degrees. He was a registered architect and worked for Omeara Chandler Construction Company before establishing Interiors for Business and Carpet Craft. Don enjoyed golfing, tennis and working in his garden and yard. Special times were spent in the home he designed and built on the Guadalupe River, especially when all the family gathered there. The family wishes to thank our friend, Dan Grieco, for his acts of kindness during Don's long illness. We also wish to thank the caregivers of Parkway Place and Compassionate Care Hospice for their thoughtfulness and special care.Visitation will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday July 20, 2010 with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:30 PM in the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079. Interment will follow in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
