Dolores P. Martinez

Dolores P. Martinez, 87 was called by her Lord to her eternal resting place in heaven on Friday, November 10, 2023. Dolores loved her children with all her heart, and it was only right that she was surrounded by her family and her faithful and loving companion, her dog, Pumpkin as she took her last breath in her home in Houston, Texas.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, Heliodoro Don Juan Martinez, her sisters, Martha Hernandez, Susie Hernandez, Ramona Valdez, and Maria Elva Arreola. She is survived by her sister, Gloria Garza and her brother John Pacheco, her children, Maria J Cano (Tomas G Cano), Maria C. Martinez (Roy Martinez), Martha A. Martinez, Heliodoro Martinez (Sandra Martinez), John M. Martinez (Gina Martinez), and Peter R. Martinez (Heidi Martinez). Dolores was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren: Christopher Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Amanda Cano, Cathryn Martinez, Heliodoro (Tony) Martinez, Marisa Martinez, Mia Martinez, Zoe Martinez, Enrique (Rick) Quintanilla and his children, Gabriela and Cesar, Theresa Scott and her daughter, Tatiana, Rachel Cano, and her daughter, Rayna Jane, Tomas Heliodoro Cano, and his son Tomas Peter. Her house was never empty and the laughter of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and friends brought her much joy.

Dolores loved gardening, cooking, going to church, watching Walker, Texas Ranger, and listening to Little Joe. All who met her loved her and enjoyed being in her company. We are saddened that she’s leaving us but are thankful that we were given such a beautiful gift to inspire us to be the people we are today. Thanks Mom and may God grant you eternal rest.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the rosary being recited at 6:30 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. A Graveside Service will occur Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.

Una visitación para Dolores se llevará a cabo el Miércoles 15 de noviembre de 2023 de las 4:00 pm a las 8:00 pm en la Iglesia Católica Christ the King, ubicada en 4419 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009. La Misa tendrá lugar el Jueves 15 de noviembre a las 10:00 am en la Iglesia Catolica Christ The King, seguida de la sepultura en el Panteón Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, a las 12:00 pm.
