Dion Cooper

Dion Maurice Cooper was born to Margaret Cooper and the late Jerome Maurice Cooper, on September 27, 1969, in Houston, Texas. He was baptized by the late Rev. Alvin Courtney at New Bethel, Simmesport, Louisiana. He received his wings on December 25, 2023, at Methodist Hospital, Baytown, Texas.

Dion worked at Cooper Environmental Service (family business) for 13 years. He graduated from Forest Brook High School, Class of 1987. He attended Mississippi Valley State University on a football scholarship.

Dion was a big sports fan. His favorite teams were teh Houston, Texans and the Houston Astros. He loved all western movies, and like his father, Gunsmoke.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving mother, Margaret Cooper; Two (2) sisters: Jolander Cooper, Houston, Texas, Nikisha (Lloyd) Henry, Dayton, Texas; One (1) nephew: Devin Cooper, Houston, Texas; One (1) Goddaughter: Angel Newton, Houston, Texas; One (1) God Sister: Renee Thomas, Humble, Texas; Two (2) Godbrothers: Ronald "Rusty" (Velika) Thomas, Houston, Texas: and Bryant Jacob, Mansura, La; One (1) Lifelong friend: Charles Prince, Houston, Texas. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, classmates, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Maurice Cooper; Maternal grandparents, Edith and Albert Cannon, paternal grandparents, Ernest and Courtney Cooper.
