Dick Talmadge Wood passed from this life on July 5, 2012. He was born in Henderson, Texas on May 4, 1929. A graduate of Arp High School, he served 5 years in the US Navy during the Korean War. Dick worked in the oil business in both Louisiana and Texas and retired from Western Atlas as Senior VP of N. American Operations. His personality, wit and wide array of colloquialisms brightened the spirits of all those who knew him. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Wood. His jovial spirit and enjoyment of life will be carried on by his daughter, Theresa M. Wood and grandson, Brandon C. Coleman III.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
