On July 20, 1951 a beautiful baby girl, Diane Wallace Taylor was born in Houston, Texas to the (late) Herman Lee Wallace and Ola Mae Wallace. She attended Evan E. Worthing High School and graduated in 1970. She accepted Christ and was baptized as a child at Trinity East United Methodist Church on McGowen in the Historic 3rd ward section of Houston where she served as a Trustee, a member of the Choir, United Methodist Women, as the Treasurer, the past President of the Gleaners and other ministries in the church. She served many years in the Order of the Eastern Star and rising to Worthy Matron, Sunlight Chapter #287. In 1984 she began a career at the Houston Chronicle where she was a loyal and dedicated employee until illness forced her to retire. Diane lived a life surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, spending time doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She served many years in Queen of Sheba Grand Chapter as Grand Electa, as well as caring for her 95 year old mother. On August 5, 2015, Ms. Diane Wallace Taylor left this earthly dwelling to be with her Master. She's preceded in death by her father Herman Lee Wallace, brothers Willie L. Harnett and Woodie H. Wallace and Sister Ruthie L. Smith. She leaves to grieve her loving mother Ola Mae Wallace; her devoted daughter Sherry Flournoy; affectionate son Craig Byrd Sr.; dear sister Brenda Forbes and nieces Kendra Manigault and Tonyika Forbes. She leaves in God's care her grandchildren: Trevian Francis, Craig Byrd Jr., Ashley Byrd, Corey Byrd, Jevon Moreland, Kameron Byrd, Kaiden Moreland and Kaila Byrd. And great grandchildren: C'niyah Byrd, Cataleya Francis, Zaiden Byrd, Bryson Washington, Amari Byrd and Eleyna Francis and host of relatives and friends..
