Diane Annette Cummings

Diane Annette Cummings, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 20, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and boundless affection.

Diane was born August 4, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan. On April 7, 1967, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Cummings, and soon after, they moved to Texas where they raised their family. Upon retiring from Continental Airlines/United Airlines, Diane embraced life as the best grandmother possible. She was dedicated to the happiness and well-being of her family, and her greatest joy came from cheering on her grandchildren in every endeavor they pursued. She never missed a soccer game, gymnastics competition, volleyball game, dance recital, cheer competition, basketball game, choir concert, baseball game, or Friday night football game. She was always present with a smile on her face, a heart full of pride and a matching spirit shirt.

Diane was a faithful servant of the Lord and an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and valued, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Diane is survived by her daughter Kelly and husband, Dwayne, daughter Karen and husband Brian, son Robert and wife Lesli; grandchildren Lauren, Brenden, Nicole and fiancé Sean, Eric, Reid and Chloe; brother Ronald Kusak and wife Ora, sister-in-law Carol Cusack and husband Jim, brother-in-law Joseph Cummings and wife Millie, and many other special family members and close friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, father Edward Kusak, mother Stella Kusak, and brother Curtis Kusak.

Family and friends will gather starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 30 at St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church, 1612 E. Walker St., League City. A funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal will be at 1pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Frwy, Houston.
