On October 16,1954, a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Mary Lacy and Willie Mitchell of whom was affectionately named Diana Lacy. Diana grew up in 1st ward surrounded by the love of her family. At an early age, she accepted Christ Jesus as her lord and Savior, and was a member of Greater First Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W.E. Gibbs and its current presiding minister Rev. R.L. Thompson Sr. until her death. She was educated in the Houston Public School system and was a graduate of the John H. Regan Sr. High School. Diana, met and married the love of her life Mr. Wayne Moten Sr. and to this union was born two children Winnetka L. Moten, and Wayne Moten Jr. and later the couple extended their family and a son Pimpsden “PC” Ingram was adopted. Though their marriage dissolved the two remained friends until his death. Diana was employed with the Harris County Tax office and years later transitioned to United Children’s Home until her health no longer allowed her. With things beginning to turn around she returned to the work force as an employee of Sam’s Club and with more than enough love in her heart she once again was able to extend her family with daughters Paige and Simya Washington. Diana had lots of love for life and family, heartbroken at times but never defeated. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary l. Lewis, father Willie Mitchell, Brothers Michael Lacy and Bobby Mitchell.On July 13, 2017, Diana transitioned into eternal rest and now fond memories that was made and shared will be left to call on by her stepfather James R. Lewis, children Winnetka Moten-Williams (Wendell ), Wayne Moten, Jr., Pimpsden "PC" Ingram, Paige Washington, and Siyma Washington, grandchildren; Joshua Williams, Jada Williams, Janiya Williams, Josiah Washington, A'ja Smith, sisters; Noel Love, Winda Creswell, Silvia Mitchell-Williams, brothers; Curtis Lacy Jr. (Dale), In addition to her children and siblings, others who will cherish her memories are In-laws; Gabriel Moten, Diana Milton, Shelia Samuel (Reckie) godchildren; George Robinson III and Asia Spears, close friend; Mrs. Linda Martin, nieces, nephews, and cousins and a host of extended loving family and friends.
