Dian Bob Lane, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 surrounded by family. Dian was born to Paul Adrian Bob and Annie Davis Bob (Allen) on November 6, 1935, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Lamar Senior High School in 1954 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Baylor University in 1958. She married James Forest Lane on June 28, 1957, and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised three (3) children.
Dian worked for many years with her parents at Bob Machine Tools. Following she worked as a Teacher’s Aide with hearing impaired children. She then worked as a receptionist at West University Baptist Church as well as several other areas including Children’s Ministry and Child Care. Her most recent role was writing welcome cards to new families leaving children in the church nursery. She enjoyed sewing and needle crafts. She was also actively involved in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, Go Slow Sams and Second Chance travel clubs.
She is survived by her son, James Forest Lane, Jr and wife Carol, daughter Adrianne Lane Sells-Carrillo, daughter Ellen Lane Meinen and husband Troy. She also leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren Nicole Lynn Sells and partner Dustin Krupp, Kyle Austin Sells and partner Kelsey Johnson, Senator Joseph Andrew Carrillo, Devan Clare Seavey and husband Joshua, Katie Michal Meinen, Lander James Meinen, Danny O’Neal, Michelle Stately and great grandchildren Joseph Granieri, Allessa Stately, Kathryn Stately, Ryker Krupp and Braxton Krupp.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Forest Lane, Sr. and parents Paul Adrian Bob and Annie Davis Bob as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 1st from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale. A funeral service is scheduled for family members on Friday, June 2nd at 10:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale officiated by Robby Dobbs.
A Celebrate of Life Service is scheduled for Monday, June 12th at 10:00 am at West University Baptist Church officiated by Roger Patterson. A reception will follow.
