Derrick attended Herrera Elementary and Fleming Middle School. He graduated from Kashmere High School in Houston, Tx.
Derrick accepted Christ at the age of 17, under the leadership of Dr. Paul D. Landrew at Loving Word Fellowship Church of Houston, Tx.
Derrick was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Chatman, greatgrand parents, Ralph and Warnett Allen, Gladys Menefee, and Great Uncle Craig E. Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving, devoted parents, Derrick and Kandy Chatman; one brother, JaQuard Chatman; one sister, Chinnah Chatman; 2 nieces, Jayla Chatman, JaKayla Chatman; one nephew, Jaylen Chatman. Grandparents; Judy Curley (Mike), Wilma Chatman, Richard Simmons (Cheryl); 2 aunts; Krystal Platt (Roger), Mikel Curley; 3 Uncles; Jimmy Chatman Jr. (Janet), Michael Curley Jr. (Sue), Zachary McFarland, and host of loving family, and friends.
