Dennis Lee Sample

Dennis Lee sample , 64, retired, passed on Friday, April 28, 2011 in Lees Summit, Missouri following a courageous battle after heart surgery. He was born October 15, 1946, in Houston, Texas to the late L.N. and Edith Sample. Dennis attended and graduated from M.B. Smiley High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy Reserves Fighting Seabees where he attained the rank of E07. Dennis retired from the Post Office after 28 years and was a member of the Spring Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years and also the Cypress Creek Emergency Medical Service for 15 years. Dennis also worked for the Harris County ESD as a dispatcher for 15 years. He leaves to cherish his memories: sons: Michael & wife Donna, George & wife Brandi; daughter, Lisa & husband Robert; seventeen grandchildren: Kayla, Kelsey, Michael, Caylon, Colby, Christian, Cuyler, Ryan, Hanna, Wesley, Aubree, Alex, Damien, Isaac, Jonathan, Matt and Dustin; brother, Noman & wife Lois; sister, Sandy & husband David; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Monday, May 2, 2011. Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Both services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up with Bank of America in the name of Dennis L. Sample Memorial fund.
