Debra Lynn Johnson

Debra Lynn Johnson, 62, of Houston, Texas, passed into eternal rest on April 25, 2017. She was born in Houston to Willie Mae Evins and George Washington on March 21, 1955. At an early age, Debra attended and was baptized at St. Luke Baptist Church. Debra graduated from MacArthur High School in 1973 and then did one year of college. She married Cecil Johnson on May 28, 1989. She was a devoted housewife and a great mother to her children.

Debra loved life. She had a passion for cooking and loved to entertain family and friends. Vacation trips and shopping were pleasures she loved. She had a flair for fashion and wearing hats.

Left to cherish her memories are husband Cecil Johnson; mother Willie Mae Washington Thomas; children: Jacoby Brown, Debra Froelich & husband Paul, Cecil Johnson, Jr. & wife Kristi; grandchildren: Charles McCoy, Heather Johnson, Kasey McCoy, Jonathan Froelich, Stefani Johnson, Tristin Froelich, Devin Froelich; brother Anthony Washington & wife Rita; aunts: Evalee Phillips, Stella Brown; nieces and nephews: Ivy Washington, Anthony Washington, Curtis Washington, Rebecca Washington and her two best friends Yvette and Cassandra whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by grandparents Rebeka Mitchell and Leonard Mitchell.

A Memorial Service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Grand Chapel with a reception to follow.
