Debra Ann Honek

Debbi graduated from Madison High School, in Houston, Texas, in 1973. After graduation, she worked as a clerk for several judges including Honorable Judge Tom Lawrence and Representative Ted Poe. She later transitioned into a career in the Chemical Industry with several major companies, Union Carbide (Houston, TX), Dow Chemical (Lake Jackson, TX), and finally Olin (Freeport, TX), where she retired from on June 1st, 2019. Debbi forged many lasting friendships along the way, all the while working diligently to provide for and raise her three children.

Debbi had a fondness for shopping, fine wine, and animals, especially Miss Pippa, her beloved Boston Terrier. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, and held a special place in her heart for the Texas Hill Country.

She will be affectionately remembered as an incredible mom, a dedicated worker, kind, intelligent, and funny by those who knew her and loved her well.

She is survived by her three children, John & Jennifer Honek, Michael Garcia, and her two grandchildren Chloe & Mia Garcia. She is proceeded in death by her brother Steven Contreras, her Father Frank Contreras, her mother Lilly Caballero Contreras, and her Grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020 at The Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 4th, 2020, in the Chapel of The Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, with a small reception following.
