Debra Ann Cormier, age 66 of Houston, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. She graduated from Phillis Wheatley High school. Debra started her professional career at Spring Branch Medical Center, where she worked for over 20 years in various roles from PBX operator to Medical Records Analyst. Most recently Debra worked as a Health Information Management Specialist at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.
Debra was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her girls and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as 'Nana".
Debra was a remarkable cook and enjoyed cooking for her girls and family friends. She enjoyed cooking her signature dish, cabbage and rice. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She often referred to herself as “The Truth”, as she was "true to her faith", "true to her girls", and "true to the love of her grandchildren".
Debra was a devout Christian who confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a deaconess and announcement clerk.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Aisha Renee Wachira and Shanelle Venora Cormier.
She is the loving and devoted mother of Michelle Frontaine Jackson, Cristian Annette Cormier and Sephra Elizabeth Jackson, who will continue to carry on her legacy and cherish her memory. She also leaves to cherish her memory: sons-in-law, Evanson Kirathe and Jeremy
Ray Valencia, Sr.; grandchildren, Debbie Rashad Jackson, Jackson Ian Kirathe, Juvon Matthew Larry, Nicaria Padron, Micah Donovan, Miracle Donovan, Faith Villarreal, Annie Bell Villarreal, Jeremy Ray Valencia, Jr., Jayden Christopher Valencia.
