Born on November 11, 1954, in Linden, Texas, Debra was the cherished daughter of the late Otha Lee Epps and Blanche Qualls. Debra's early life was marked by a unique journey, attending schools in various parts of the country, including Germany, Japan, California, and more, as her father was stationed at Fort Seal in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Debra graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Oklahoma, and later earned her Paralegal degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. After relocating to Houston, Texas, she dedicated herself to education, becoming a permanent substitute teacher for the Houston Independent School District (HISD).
In a story that echoed love and commitment, Debra found her soulmate in Clyde Caesar, with whom she shared 22 beautiful years of marriage. Their life together was filled with shared passions, including traveling, fishing, movies, bingo, family gatherings, a love for old-school music, and dancing.
Debra’s life was enriched by Reverend Byron C. Stevenson, the Senior Pastor and Founder of The Fort Bend Church in Sugar Land, Texas. As well as her time as an Eastern Star.
Debra will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and her infectious love for life. She is survived by her beloved husband Clyde Caesar, sons Shawn Epps (wife Janice), Wendell Williams (wife Delandria), stepsons Theran Caesar (wife Debbie), Christensen Caesar, stepdaughters Chandra Mouton, Carlitheia Carter, four brothers Alfread Epps, Michael Epps, Kenneth Epps, Bobby Gaskins, sister Samaria Epps, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Debra also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness.
Debra is preceded in death by her mother Blanche Qualls, father Otha Lee Epps, and her dear daughter Wendy Wordlaw.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Debra's memory.
