Dearest Brother Bear, I cannot believe that you are no longer with us. When Julie called to tell me you had a heart attack, she was frantic. I could hear her words but refused to accept them. A heart attack? David? He's only 38! When she called again to tell me you were gone, I was dumbstruck. Even now, I still cannot believe it. I just saw you! We just celebrated Chinese New Year together. Just two weeks ago, you and Julie hosted an epic super bowl party. How could someone as full of life as you be gone? How could someone in the prime of life, married to a beautiful wife and acing his dream job have his life cut short?

No one embraced life as fully as you did. No one could energize a room the way you did. No one could make people feel as warm and welcome as you could. No one was as generous and giving as you were. No one could love my sister as you did.

You added so much joy to my family and meant the world to my sister. You touched our family so much with your devotion both to your family and to ours. Your tender care of your father and Baba will forever touch me. You could win anyone over with your warm and genuine personality, even your father in law! You two were buddies, whether watching football together, napping together or just enjoying each other's company. I don't know if you knew this, but we counted on you to cheer him up. He would hear you call out, Baba! as you walked through the door. Immediately, a big smile would appear on Baba's face and he would have pep in his step.

What made you such a special person? You inherited your father's sense of duty, served our country and are a hero. You were a beloved husband, son, son in law, brother, brother in law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Your tender heart and love of family made you my Brother Bear and such a special person to me. Despite working incredibly long hours, you found time to mow your father's lawn on the weekends. You always made time to join Sadowski, Cheng and Ting family gatherings not just as a participant but also as host and ringleader. I still remember the white elephant Christmas parties you and Julie hosted for the Ting family relatives. I don't think the family has ever had such fun and excitement. I can still picture you with a dish towel over your left shoulder, frying a turkey, making the best queso, full of joy and laughter and of course emceeing the gift exchange.

Your big heart and love of family extended to four legged members as well. After you and Julie first met, you adopted two kittens, Watson and Witten. Soon puppies, Remy and Dallas, joined them. Julie is well known in our family as an animal lover, we call her Dr. Doolittle. However, when Watson went missing, you were the one bawling and staying up all night putting up signs around the neighborhood.

I remember your wedding day seven years ago. I recall Zach's best man speech, saying the reckless Sado transformed into the responsible David once you met my sister almost ten years ago. Picturing you on your wedding day, tears glistening in your eyes as you gazed upon Julie and seeing how hard you worked each day and how dedicated you were to your family, I cannot believe this Sado ever existed. Truth be told, you transformed my sister and made her a better person as well.

You were a serious person - I picture you reading books about sales and marketing as your leisure reading - but you never took yourself seriously. One year, your company needed someone to dress in a giant turkey costume for Thanksgiving. Why was I not surprised to see video footage of Turkey Leg Dave jumping and dancing around? I would like to know, how hard was it to convince you to be Turkey Leg Dave? Did you volunteer?

You always held onto your passion for life and for Julie. Everyone who knew you two saw your giant love for each other. My mother once remarked, You know, your sister loves David so much. She calls him Mouse, and that means she loves him. David's mouse was complement to Julie's bug. Anyone who has been on social media knows that Bug and Mouse loved each other.

You took amazing care of my sister and she of you. What I recall most vividly are the everyday things you did for each other. You truly were one another's partners. The husband that anticipates what his wife needs? Can read her mind? That was you. Julie drove me to the airport early Sunday morning after our Chinese New Year dinner earlier this year. As Julie and I were racing to the airport, she told me that despite your having a cold, you had woken up early to make sure she was ready to hit the road and get me on my flight. You had poured her a glass of water and put out quarters for the toll. Julie, for her part, always had you on the forefront of her mind. When you were sick, you could count on her to be there to help you heal. When Julie wasn't with you, she was thinking of you. Together, you embraced life's challenges fearlessly, knowing you had each other.

Brother Bear, thank you for being part of our family and of our lives. We love you so much.

David, I know the last time I saw you we were at Wild Wings and just reminiscing about the good old days going up together. We should of gone to your superbowl party that you had invited us to. I'm so saddened because you're so energetic, kind, funny, loving and always made me happy when I was down. I won't forget our conversations or your most memorable, "Carolyn, I went to "cool" today and we learned....". I think you were like 5-7 and I've NEVER let you live that down! I am still completely floored and in total shocked. It really hurts that we lost such a great guy so early in his life. My heart is with everyone who knew him and especially Julie. Prayers from my heart.

My heart hurts knowing you are gone. You were such a wonderful person who clearly touched the lives of so many. Your love for your beautiful wife was evident, even through pictures. I will miss your smile. I can see it clearly in my mind. This past week I have been flooded with memories and have prayed for your family and friends to find peace. You were taken too soon. David, I don't even know where to begin. You were one like none other. The way you could command an audience and put a smile on the face of everyone in the room is a rare gift. The moment you and Julie met, the two of you just completed each other. It's hard to imagine one without the other. I feel truly lucky to have called you a friend and brother for the past 9 years. I've been trying to avoid writing this because everytime I've attempted it, it brings tears to my eyes. I'm still having a hard time trying to accept it. I still can't believe you're gone David Sadowski Jr. You were not only one of my mentors in the car business but also a great friend to me but also to everyone else in our family. Even though towards the end we all drifted apart in our ways, we will still always love you Sado. I can say that you have made an impact in my life and im glad to be able to say that you were my friend. Nobody could brighten a room like you could. And just know that even death cannot slow you down. Fly high and fly fast my friend. Heaven has now accepted another good person but I promise no one up there is quite like you. RIP David. I'll always remember how both you and Julie made me feel like family during my visit. I'll still never forgive you for trying to hook me up with this Fake Michael Jackson.

This is my friend and former coworker, Julie Sadowski and her husband David. I never met David but though Facebook it was obvious that these two are best friends and the love of each other's lives. Tragically, David passed away unexpectedly on Friday at the way too young age of 38. Please put Julie and her and David's families on your prayer list. Express your love everyday like these two did. Life is short and there is no guarantee of tomorrow.
