David Arnold Rhodes

David Arnold Rhodes, 65, Kilgore, Texas passed away on December 12, 2017. He was born to Arnold L. Rhodes and Martha Warner Rhodes on May 8, 1952. David enjoyed cooking, writing, reading, listening to music and most especially spending time with his family. He was married to Nancy Whetstone Rhodes and spent most of his life managing grocery / convenience stores, then the past year working for his friend Kenny’s appliance repair and sales store. His recent cancer diagnosis this summer forced him to semi-retire and concentrate on his treatment. Unfortunately other medical complications took him sooner than we expected.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother, Jeff.

David is survived by his longtime love, Nancy Rhodes, his daughter, Lee’ah Joseph and her husband, Mathew, along with their three sons, Caleb, Carter and Cohen; his step-son, Heath Witt and his children, Zach & Emma, his brothers, Allen Rhodes and wife, Carla, and Howard Rhodes and wife, Lena; and his sisters: Karen Mays and husband, Richard, Janice Barfield and husband, Nelson, LeaAnn Tomlinson and husband, Wayne. He will be missed by many other family members and friends, of whom he held close to his heart.

Services will be held on Monday, December 18th at 2pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, Houston, TX.
