David Eugene Melton

Mr. David E. Melton, 85 of Houston, Texas passed away May, 1, 2020. He was born in Joplin, Missouri on October 26, 1934 to Ellis Melton and Agnes Bennett Melton. He was married to Margaret A. Melton for 65 years.

David had a successful career in oil and gas for over 50 years. He had a passion for his work and was highly thought of by his peers for his knowledge, quick wit and infectious smile.

David loved to travel and had a curious and adventurous spirit. He was not afraid to go off the beaten path to experience new places and meet different people.

David adored his wife Margaret and made sure she knew that until his last breath. Their love stood the test of time here on earth and will continue for all of eternity.

He was preceded in death by his son John Melton of Durant, Oklahoma.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Margaret of 65 years, his two sons David and wife Amanda of El Paso, Texas; Steven and his partner Simon of Houston, Texas. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be on Friday, May 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077.
