March 31, 1949 – November 11, 2011
Dave is survived by his wife of 30 years Lesley and daughter Pamela.
Dave was born in Morecambe England, the only child of Doris and James Kellet, and graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He worked for MW Kellogg abroad in North Africa for several years where he met his wife Lesley. They had been married for 8 years when they were permanently transferred to Houston in1989. The beginning of Dave’s career was marked by the growth of computers and technology in his field. Dave was enthusiastic about this shift and focused his career on programming and project development.
Outside of work, he was an avid sports fan and attentive father and husband. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Awty International School where his daughter was a student for 12 years.
He was comforted being at home with his family by his side during his all too short battle with brain cancer. As with all things, he faced his condition with courage and dignity and a sense of humor.
He passed away peacefully at home on Friday November 11. A Remembrance Day that will remain a special date to us all.
He will be missed.
At Dave’s request, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center. https://www.mdanderson.org/gifts/
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 21 at 12:30pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow in the Stephen F. Austin Room.
