Reflections of a Wonderful Life Darrell Keith Moore On November 6, 1960, a bouncing baby boy was born to the blessed union of Roosevelt and Cassie Moore in Houston, Texas. As a young lad Darrell Keith Moore attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later joined First Morning Star Baptist Church. He obtained his primary education at Chatman Elementary School and his junior high education at Key Middle School. As a young teenager he attended Kashmere Senior High School, where he enjoyed running track and engaging in other activities. In 1980 Darrell graduated from Kashmere Senior High School and was later employed as an air conditioning technician by Houston Independent School District (HISD). After attending Texas A&M Branch at Barbara Jordan High School for Careers. Darrell was the wonderful father of Darius, Cashara and Kalen Moore. He loved them dearly and was always there for them. During those years Darrell was a "born western cowboy" as well as the owner of several wonderful horses. Much of his leisure time was spent calf roping, breaking and cutting horses, and trail riding. He was a very active participant of the rodeo and especially enjoyed wearing top-of-the-line starched jeans, western shirts, boots and hats and really treasured his brand new saddle. In the midst of it all, special attention was always given to his dearest mother, Mrs. Cassie Moore, whose welfare was very important to him. For a long time, Darrell visited her practically every day, supplied many of her needs and took her many places. He also was very fond of his two brothers, Jeffery and Rickie, and his two sisters, Janice and Angel. Janice was very helpful to Tracye when Darrell was hospitalized. Tis true for many years rodeo life was Darrell's favorite pastime. However, in 2008 he met the "love of his life", Ms. Tracye Yvette Mason. Tracye proved to be a great catch! After two years of unrelenting pursuit, Darrell finally persuaded her to go on a date with him. He swept her off her feet, they fell in love and, a year and a half later, were married on New Year's Eve Day of 2009, bringing in the new year of 2010 with a BANG! What a lovely couple they were! They were married a mere two months short of five glorious years of marriage. Believe it or not, Tracye got Darrell out of wearing western clothes all the time and introduced him to the attire of her world -- dressy men's suits, polo casual shirts and gator shoes. You name it; he had it! The couple went many places and met many new faces, still frequenting the rodeos, and also enjoyed an unforgettable Caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Solstice, visiting Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten in July 2010. What a great, romantic venture that was! Before it ended, Darrell said, "Let's book another one for next summer, Tracye!" He had the time of his life! The rodeo, horses, cows and western wear took a backseat quite often after that. Then Darrell's life took a u-turn, but he and Tracye hung in there together! Tracye proved to be a very attentive, strong, faithful, supportive and encouraging wifeuntil he took his last breath of life. She stood by him until the very end! Darrell's expert medical care at M. D. Anderson Hospital, one of the best medical facilities in the world, ended on October 24, 2014 at approximately 3:47 A.M. The Master stopped by, wrapped him in his arms and took him home to Glory. Praise God for his mighty works and wonders, his great love and his reliable human instruments! Darrell was preceded in death by his beloved father, Roosevelt Moore. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Tracye Yvette Moore; his dearest mother, Mrs. Cassie Moore; his four children: Darius, Kalen, Cashara and Jeremy (a son he reared as his own); a grandson, Jeremy, Jr.; his brothers, Jeffery and Rickie; his sisters, Janice (Ricardo) and Angel; his goddaughter, Lalah; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends, neighbors, coworkers (present and retired) and acquaintances.
