Darla Jean Michel Butler, 58, a resident of Katy, Texas, entered into eternal life on April 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Darla was born in Baton Rouge, LA to Darleen Roddy Michel and Gary T. Michel. She was a 1984 graduate of East Ascension High School.
Darla was married to her loving and supportive husband, Walter H. Butler, for 21 years. Her pride and joy were her children, Taylor Noel Rossi Davis and Landon Harwell Butler. Darla created an amazing family, circle of friends and successful health supplement business. Her radiant smile lit up any room she entered, and her warmth was felt by everyone she came in contact with. Darla was so proud of her children, Taylor and Landon, as well as the health business she built. She loved to go to the beach, to the gym, and to travel to see her precious family and friends in Louisiana.
Darla lived a full life. A life full of love and achievement. Hers was a life that made everyone’s life better for having known her. She is gone but will never be forgotten. Darla was blessed to have a best friend since high school, Regina Solar Weydert, her forever BFF. When she moved to Texas, she was blessed again when she met Carol Franklin, her Texas BFF.
Darla is survived by her husband, Walter Butler; her daughter and son-in-law Taylor Rossi Davis and Zachary McQuiston Davis; and her son, Landon Butler. She is also survived by her parents, Darleen Michel and Gary Michel (and longtime companion Judy Caillouet), her sister Tracey Michel (and significant other Tommy Averette); a nephew and Godson, Jordan M. Gautreau, his wife Lindsay and their children Bailey Lynn and Jake Michael; a niece Kaitlin R. Millet, her husband Austin and their children Karmyn Elise and Harper Claire; and niece Katelyn Butler; and many wonderful cousins and friends.
Darla is preceded in death by her Father-in-law Harold Gene Butler and his wife Mary and brother-in-law Harold Gene Butler, Jr.; her grandparents William and Ida E. Roddy; Mikel and Juliette L. Michel and multiple beloved cousins.
