Our beloved mother, Dao Thi Nguyen, departed this world peaceably on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was 77 years old. In her final moments, she was encompassed in love with her devoted husband, caring children and steadfast family by her side.
Dao was born on August 8, 1946, in Saigon, Vietnam and was one of twelve children. Having endured war and hardships, her family immigrated to the United States in 1975 where she worked diligently to maintain and keep her whole family together. She was industrious, business minded, full of ideas and a force to be reckoned with.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and food as she cherished feeding her family and was ardent in the kitchen making her famous Pho soup.
Her strength and passion will continue to live on in her surviving family members: her husband, Tay Le, her 7 children, Danny (Amy) Nguyen, Rick (Jodi) Nguyen, Patti Nguyen Williams, Tony (Christie) Le, Ryan (Thien) Nguyen, Larry (Trinh) Nguyen and Susan (John) Dinh; her 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Que (Ai) Nguyen, Hoa (Ron) Nguyen and brother, Nick (Renee) Nguyen as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitations for our mother will be held:
Monday & Tuesday, November 6 & 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077.
A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
