Daniel Wells, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1944 to the proud parents, Daniel and Lois Wells. The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1950. Daniel attended Dogan Elementary. His first encounter with Christ was at God’s Holy Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Bishop E. Bounds. In 1952 his family moved to Barrett Station in Crosby, Texas where he attended Charles R. Drew elementary and graduated from Charles R. Drew High in 1963 with honors. He went to the Job Corps and received a degree in landscaping and eventually started his own business. He had a passion for landscaping and fishing. Later moved to Houston and met and married Judy Bradshaw. To this reunion three children were born, Sonya, Tamika and Daniel Wells. Daniel joined Greater True Light M.B.C. and remained a member until his death. David and Judy were happily married for 44 years.
He was preceded in death his parents, Daniel and Lois Wells, a grandson Kelvin Godfrey, two daughters Donna Brady and Sonya Wells Flanagan.
Left to cherish his memories, devoted wife Judy Wells, two sisters Evelyn Lowery and her husband Henry and Mary Thomas. Daughters Tamika and her husband John Leonard, Pamela and her husband Eugene Scott, Cenethia and her husband Donald Morgan, Rosiland and her husband Frank Daniels. A son Daniel and his wife Melissa Wells. 31 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. And one very, very special grandson David Wells.
Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at New Life In the Word Ministries, 4521 Englewood , Houston, TX 77026. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
