Daniel's life was marked by a distinguished 24-year career in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Radar Operator and Intelligence. His military tenure was followed by service in the U.S. National Guard.
After his military career, Daniel transitioned into education and law, impacting many through his role as a Substitute Teacher, Attorney in General Practice, Municipal Court Judge, and as an Instructor at Houston Community College (HCC) and an Adjunct Professor at Thurgood Marshall School of Law (TMSL). He also contributed as an ESL Instructor at HCC.
Daniel pursued higher education at San Antonio College, St. Mary's University, and Thurgood Marshall School of Law, continually advocating for lifelong learning. His personal interests were as diverse and rich as his professional life, enjoying baseball, landscaping, swimming, reading, painting, woodworking, gardening, and renovation work.
He is survived by his wife, Josefina Perez; children, Stella Palmer, Daniel Perez III, Monica Perez Palacios, and Samuel Perez; and his sister, Rebecca Perez. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Luz Perez, Ramon Perez, Consuelo Perez, and his son Ernest Perez.
The funeral arrangements are under the care of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. Daniel's life and legacy will be remembered for his dedicated service both in military and civilian capacities, his commitment to education, and the deep love for his family and community.
