Dale worked hard and earned a very successful career in Engineering and Construction, mostly with Foster Wheeler USA Corporation in the Houston Engineering Center. He began his career with Foster Wheeler in January of 1956, and held a number of supervisory and management positions until retiring in 1987. Dale was an extraordinary leader, manager of people and of projects with equal skill. In 1982, he was named Vice President of Project Management for Forney Engineering and Controls in Dallas, Texas, a Foster Wheeler subsidiary. After retirement from Foster Wheeler, Dale worked for several years for the Lummus Corporation as a Project Director in Houston.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Nixon Reed and Dorothy Martin Reed. He is survived by his wife, Norma; his daughter, Kathleen Howell and her husband, Lee; his daughter, Pamela Reed; his son, Dale Jr. and his wife, Sandy; his grandchildren, Lantz Howell and his wife, Amy; Hayley Vela and her husband, David; Madison Reed and McKenna Reed; his great grandchildren, Leyton Howell, Carys Howell and Kyra Howell; his brothers, Robert Reed and Walter Reed.
