Cynthia Elaine Hatfield

Cynthia Elaine Hatfield, affectionately called “Granny” by family and friends, graced the world with her presence on October 12, 1959, the 6th child born to Annie Yarbrough and James Peters in Houston, Texas. She entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, when God sent his angels to carry her to her heavenly mansion.

Cynthia united, in Holy Matrimony, with Leroy Hatfield in 1977. And to that union 5 children were born, one daughter and 4 sons.

Cynthia loved the Lord, accepted Christ as her savior and ultimately made The Word Church, Houston, TX (Pastor J) her home before her transition.

Cynthia was preceded in death by both parents, one son, her husband, and four brothers; Wilbur, Reginald, Michael and Gary Yarbrough.

Cynthia is survived by and leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Cherwenyetta Hatfield, her sons, Lewis Yarbrough, Raytheon Hatfield and JaCorie Hatfield (Yasmine), five sisters: Cheryl Andrews, Sandra Johnson (Lonnie), Judy Yarbrough, Artimese Yarbrough and Tawanna Samuels (Ken), four brothers; James Arthur, Andrew (Rhonda), Artimus (Keryl) and Lester Yarbrough, eleven grandchildren; Darian, Lewis Jr., Logan, Niya, Tyreese, Javeon, Rayneria, Myles, Zariah, JaCorie, Jr and Nova, 2 great grandchildren; Mileah and Lewis III, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close family members and friends that she held close to her heart.
