Cynthia “Cindy” Flores Miller was born January 28,1967 in Houston, Texas to Salvador and Jovita Flores. She was the youngest of eight children. She was called home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2022. She is survived by her son John Sutton, daughter Caroline Grace, husband David Sutton, and siblings Elma Brieva, Martha Macias, Nora Martinez, Anna Merino, and Leticia Castillo, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and family who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Graciela Flores and brother Salvador Flores, Jr.
Cindy was a Milby High School graduate and attended the University of Houston. In her earlier adult life, Cindy worked in media sales and in interior design, but her true life’s calling was fulfilled when she became a mother. It was her absolute pride and joy to be a full-time mom to John and Grace and wife to David. The Miller family lived in Houston, San Diego, and Dubai, AE before settling in The Woodlands, Texas.
Cindy was a devout Christian and member of Faith Bible Church in The Woodlands. Her faith gave her strength and love, strong Christian conservative values, and defined the way she conducted her life. Cindy loved her country. She made it her mission to actively participate in ensuring the future she envisioned for her children.
In a very short period of time, Cindy became a powerful voice in the Montgomery County Republican Party. She served in various leadership roles as a board member of the Montgomery County Republican Women. A proud daughter of Houston’s East End, she made it her mission to bring the conservative message to Latinos, firmly believing there were aligned values. With this in mind, Cindy co-founded and was a board member of the Hispanic Conservatives of Montgomery County. Her heart for our country and selfless efforts on behalf of her beliefs made Cindy a respected and deeply admired woman.
Cindy treasured family time above all else! Whether playing board games with John and Grace, watching movies on date nights with David, laughing with her sisters over a good card game, or telling a great story to her nieces and nephews–she brought joy and love to everyone she touched. Cindy will be missed beyond measure.
The Miller and Flores Families thank you all for the outpouring of love and sympathy. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the knowledge that Cindy is dancing in Heaven.
