Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Please accept the thoughts and prayers of distant cousins.

For those of you who may not know me, I am his grand-daughter Lyndsey, and I always knew him as my paw-paw.
My paw-paw was a great man. When I think about him the words that come to mind are: hard worker, caring, humorous, faithful, respectful, storyteller, craftsman and family man. These are just a few words that come to mind, but it is impossible to summarize how great of a person he was in words.
My earliest memories of time spent with him are staying at his house and playing games or piddling as he called it in the garage. He would often spend most of the day finding something in the shop to fix up or build from scratch, like the enormous doll house he thought would be fun until he saw how little all the pieces were then he said that was a dad project. He loved to be outside and busy. He taught me how to drive the lawn mower and he would give me rides in the wagon just pulling me around the yard. He would never get mad if you did something the wrong way he would just show you how to do it his way! I didn't fully appreciate it then, but looking back it was really wonderful how much attention he gave me. I remember all the places we traveled together over the summers and all the crazy things he would tell me when I would ask 50 questions. When he used to dip I would ask to see his bag of dip and he would tell me not to ever touch it because it was worms! I never thought to ask why he was putting them in his mouth then. He taught me how to play poker while Meme was inside grocery shopping and we waited in the van wishing we could win big in real life. Little did I know spending all that time with him I really did hit it big after all. 
As I grew older and became busier with my own life I saw him less. Even though the visits to his house were less frequent, he always made an effort to keep up with what was going on in my life and see how I was doing. Whenever I needed help with school or work I knew that I could call him for advice. He could help solve the simple problems and was also willing to give his wisdom and advice with larger life problems.
I am going to miss paw-paw's jokes, his wisdom and love. I am going to miss his laugh and how he called me “sugar,” he was the only one who truly ever believed I was that sweet! One day in the future we will meet again in heaven. Until then I will pass your wisdom down to my children and future grandchildren. I want to thank you for being such as wonderful person to me, your family and friends. There is not a day that will go by that you are not in my thoughts, or that I won't take a second to chuckle at a memory we made as it comes to me randomly in my day. We will all miss you and love you always but you will forever live on through the stories we will tell about you!

Sending heartfelt sympathies to the entire family.  I didn't know the man personally but I do know something about the legacy of love he leaves with his family is a testament to love itself.  BRAVO, to a life well lived and a man well loved!
