Cody William Alexander Collins was born in Houston, Texas on June 10, 1992. He was the second child born to Karon and Donald Collins. He was a very generous person, practicing never passing up a person in need. His belief in "loving kindness" changed the lives of the people whose space he shared. Cody graduated from Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas. He attended the Lone Star College, Cypress Fairbanks, Cypress, Texas, aspiring in the areas of art and game design. He was particularly interested in pencil art. Cody participated in a summer science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) camp at Prairie View A&M University. He participated in summers at the CompuCamp at the University of Houston focusing on 3D Animation, Build Your Own Computer and Programming with C++. Cody trained for a time as an amateur boxer (featherweight) at the Savannah Boxing Gym. Cody was a Dahn Yoga student and attended the Tao Fellowship (Dahn Yoga), Meditation Center, Sedona, Arizona. Cody studied Vipassanna Meditation at the Dhamma Siri center at Kaufman, Texas. He looked forward to also volunteering at the center. Cody was raised in the church and professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He often read The Bible and enjoyed engaging in discussions about the scripture. Cody expressed appreciation to the Conroe Church of Christ for teaching and protecting him. Cody worked at various jobs at nursing homes, restaurants and at a Dahn Yoga center. Cody Collins was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Troy Collins and Mrs. Germalean Collins; and, his maternal grandparents, Mrs. Hazel Elzy and Mr. Willie B. Elzy. He was preceded by his great maternal grandparents, Mr. Bluster and Mrs. Lula Woods and his paternal great grandparents, Mr. Mayfield and Mrs. Cody Harkless (Bay City, Texas). Cody is survived by his devoted parents, Mrs. Karon Y. Elzy Collins and Dr. Donald R. Collins; and his devoted sister, Miss Grace Kimberly Collins. He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Mrs. Kim Y. Elzy Randolph (Reginald) and cousin, Regan A. Randolph. He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Mrs. Linda J. M. Collins Deadrick (Warren) and cousins Clarissa Weaver (Demetrius, of Atlanta, GA) and Ashlynn. His surviving uncles are Carlton W. Collins, and cousin, Lakesha Collins; Artis C. Collins (Vicia) and cousin, Artesha; and, Troy I. M. Collins and cousins, Nikki, Iris, Dassia and Germalean. He is survived by a host of relatives and friends.
