Clifford Clayton Rains was born in Houston, Texas January 15, 1943 to William Wallace Rains and Ruth Butler Rains. He was called to his eternal home April 9, 2025. Graduate of Sam Houston High School class of 1961. Clifford spent his younger days fishing with his Mom, Dad and brothers with a love of the outdoors, fast cars, and rock and roll music.
He was a devoted husband, dad, paw paw, and great paw paw. Clifford was the true definition of a family man, dedicating his life to his loving wife, Barbara and their children, Sarah and William. He was a truck driver by trade and retired from Central Freight after over 40 years of safe driving.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Wallace Rains, mother, Ruth Butler Rains, brother, Luther Wallace Rains, sister-in law, Laverne Johnston Rains , great niece, Kristin Holliday, nephew Clayton Rains and wife, Barbara Jennings Rains. Barbara’s passing October 27, 2024 left an insurmountable hole in his heart.
Clifford is survived by daughter, Sarah Rains Introligator, son William Clayton Rains (Kim), brother, Bill Rains (Brenda), brother-in-law John Jennings (Nancy), grandchildren, Seth Introligator (Michelle), Kellie Rains (Kyle), Williams Rains, Jr (Alizon), , Joshua Introligator, Matthew Rains, and Nicholas Rains. Great grandchildren, Willy, Joe and Maddex as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His Christian faith and God’s promise assures us he is made whole and in the loving arms of his savior Jesus and reunited with his loving wife, Barbara.
Funeral services for Clifford will be Wednesday, April 16. 2025 at Earthman Resthaven,Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00, services at 10:00.
Burial will take place at 12:00 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
