Cleo Agnes Minnie (Wachsmann) Fischer the oldest of five children was born on March 31, 1933 to George and Esther (nee ’Riedel) Wachsmann. She was baptized on April 22, 1933 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim, TX and later confirmed on April 14th, 1946.
Cleo has been a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1962. She was a charter member of the Altar Guild and Naomi willing workers. Cleo was a housewife for many years while babysitting children in the home. While her children attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Cleo was a room mother numerous times. After her children were grown, she went to work for Region IV Educational Center in the film library where she worked for 19 years.
Cleo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Fischer. They were married for 51 years. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Son, Calvin Fischer of Salem, AL, and his children: Calli Lehmann and husband Aaron, children: Chase, Bailey, and Marley; Emilie Cain and husband Trent, children: Kyleigh and Peyton; Jonathan Fischer and wife Kelli, children: Davis and Charlotte Clare; Caleb Fischer and fiancé Allison Edmonson. Daughter, Cathleen Chevallier and her husband John of Conroe, TX and their children Stephen and Nathan. Son, Clifford Fischer and his wife Betsy of Lubbock, TX and their children Megan and Lane. Joining with these dear ones mourning her passing are her two surviving siblings, sister, Carolyn Kassulke of Florida and brother, Melvin Wachsmann and wife Sue of Spring as well as sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Hefner of Kingsland and Clara Fischer of Seguin. In addition, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, neighbors and fellow church members who knew and loved her.
The Lord in his mercy and wisdom called Cleo to her eternal rest from the Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital as she was surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, March 3, 2019. She was 85 years old, 11 months. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, George and Esther Wachsmann, her sister, Alice Richter and brother, Victor Wachsmann.
