Clennie G. LeFlore was born Clennie Merle Gatewood on May 18, 1931 in Forest, Mississippi, Scott County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Ennis Gatewood and Lonnie May Loresa (Johnson) Gatewood. Her half-brother, Milton Lewis Gatewood and wife Irene (Stokes) Gatewood, her older brother, Albert Nova Gatewood his wives Rena (Woods) and Rose (Hayes) Gatewood. Her twin brother, Lemmie Murrel (Sonny) Gatewood. Clennie married James Tate LeFlore (deceased) on February 22,1952 in Laurel, Mississippi. Clennie is survived by:

Clennie moved to Houston Texas in 1952 and resided here until her death. She graduated Good Hope High School, Good Hope, Mississippi in 1949, and obtained her Associates of Art degree from South Texas College, Houston, Texas in 1962. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Melrose Chapter Local 920 and the Social Order of the Beauceant, Melrose Assembly No. 204 of Houston Texas.
